ParticipantWondered what the current situation is as regards doing electrical repairs on an electric fan oven with a gas hob, range cooker type, obviously not disturbing or touching the gas side.
Is this a no no or still no definitive instruction.May 19, 2010 at 1:48 am #320574gandh1

as far as i was aware as long as it didnt involve a disconnecting any part of the gas supply (internally or externally) to access the relevant screws/panels you would be ok?!
ALso read on here something about if it was a bayonet connection the owner is entitled to disconnect it and reconnect it for cleaning purposes. if this is actually the case then i guess the owner can suggest he cleans behind it while you look at it. the big problems arise when you have to gain access to the rear but the cooker is directly plumbed-in without a flexi-hose. thats an instant walk away job unless u have a gas safe friend.

Apparently revamped now….If anyone goes to a dual fuel cooker with regards to carrying out ANY repair…they MUST NOT disconnect the gas supply pipe UNLESS thay are gas safe registered!
So to answer your question if you can do it without diconnecting the gas supply pipe you will be ok!Hope this helps
