ParticipantGood Morning,
I have a MW051 Phase 2 machine. Water valves cycle on/off every 5 secs during fill. Spin not work.
Error code 16 eventuates and some times 136.
Diagnostics have proved valves operate ok.
Measured stator windings-OK
RPS sensor appears OK when monitoring with meter and manually turning agitator, ie no more than two on at a time as motor is turning. My Error code listing does not list error 16?
Any ideas please?
Thanks for your help.

I haven’t got a code 16 either ๐ . 136 is the motor stall error, it can’t get started. Check that the drum does actually turn freely as a starting point.
Assuming that it does, check the wiring into the motor for chaffing, corrosion and dampness. Similarly, the RPS. Use a multimeter to check for continuity through the motor and its three windings.
If all that checks out, the motor controller is likely to be to blame.
However – it’s always worth checking the lid and out of balance switches for function and corrosion as well.

Thanks for your input Penguin45.
I have carried out all your checks, I now have the cleanest wiring loom, cleanest pump and drive motor inside and out, working OOB and lid switch and working RPS and still got error 16 ๐ so I bought a new motor controller and hey presto my wife loves me again!! ๐
As an engineer it still irks me that I could not find the fault in the motor controller however that’s life sometimes.
Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Hi all I have been given a GW 601 motor controller to repair by a friend and what do you know – it has an error code 16 – I have traced it to the fill circuits being monitored by the ยตP on the motor controller. If either hot or cold fill circuit goes O/C then error 16 is flagged
