    Hi all,

I have the problem with my Electrolux electric cooking hob. This morning when I turned on one plate, the RCD tripped immediately. So I tried the other 3 plates and there was no problem with them. Yesterday that plate still worked fine and the oven works normally. What can be the cause of the problem? Can it be that some water (perhaps spilt from the boiling pot) getting into the hob? If so, is there anything that I can try myself ? Any idea?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers all,
    Pandalover

Well either one of the rings has failed or the control to it? It will need opening up and checking out. If you need help in that regard, click on the link below for a local engineer to sort it for you. 😉

Thanks for your comment Martin. If it’s the case, I suspected it may be the dampness caused it cos the last time I used it some water spilt onto that plate. But I just wonder how easy / if it’s possible that the water leaked into inside??

    Good morning,
It’s the Electrolux EHE683 Stainless Steel. Thank you.
The last time it worked a lot of water spilt from the boiling pot onto that ring then the next morning it stopped working. I just don’t expect it to leak into inside that easy !?! 😥
In this case, will it cause a lot of damage?

Just to update. This morning I try switching the troubled ring on. It becomes working again and doesn’t trip the RCD anymore!!! 😀

    Guess the water has evaporated.
