My Hotpoint CTD85 won’t start

Hi.

I’ve had a Hotpoint CTD85 condenser dryer since xmas 2006 – so now, just over the 12 months 😮

I’ve only used it about 15-20 times in total but having just refitted my kitchen I’ve been moving it around a few times to put in cupboards etc but took care not to bash it around.

Now when I try to use it, it turns on fine and I can set the program etc, but when I press the start/cancel button it just beeps 4 times (which normally means that option isn’t available eg. when you try and set pre-care before you set a delayed start).

Having just read through a bunch of posts on here and other forums, I’ve been reading about ‘test mode’ – could it have been accidentally put into test mode? I ask this as whilst refitting the kitchen I found myself constantly turning it on and pressing various buttons whilst leaning over to fix wall cupboards and paint. If this could be the case, would it say ‘test’ somewhere on the display (as it doesn’t at the moment) and how do I exit test mode?

Fixing the door closed sensor solved this problem, once I got the top off the machine and could see the problem!

Hi Guys, I’m having the same problem. Did you have to purchase another sensor, or did you manage to fix the existing one??

If you purchased it, where did you get it from and how much did it cost??

If you fixed it, can you give me a brief explanation of how to do similar.
