Hello folks, I need your professional advise on this one as I’m completely stumped…? lol

    😥

My Iceland Kyoto K76243 fridge freezer starting giving me issues just as the big freeze kicked in, it was ok for a while then all of a sudden i noticed the main motor at the back of the unit stopped making any noise and my fridge by the morning was warm and the freezer defrosting fast !!!!

I spoke to a friend and was given the advice to just defrost the whole unit and leave it be for a day or two and then switch it back, which worked fine for about 4 days until last night.

I noticed that I had a bit of frost forming in the fridge, obviously way too cold so I turned the internal dial to 4, but as soon as I done this the motor stopped again and hasnt come on since, I thinking it might be a temperature thing in the room or the thermostat on the unit maybe?

    PLease help….

    Thanks Folks

Is it in a cold room?

The room itself isnt that cold to be honest, we have the heating on most of the day for my little girl but the radiators are a fair distance from the kitchen.

The room temperature, if it drops below the minimum for the the cabinet, is a distinct possibility. If it’s too low the machine won’t cut in.

The other possibility, from what you’ve explained of the issue, is that the compressor is cutting out on it’s overheat protection and would indicate either a faulty PTC/relay or compressor itself.
