My new AW23… E54?

So I went for the AW23 (couldn’t scrape enough for an ISE10, sadly). It was delivered promptly, and is a delight to use… apart from one thing.

Occasionally when you turn it on, it says E54 on the display, and flashes the door light. That goes away if you hold down start/reset, but it’s making me a little worried. It just happened now, and when I started it then a little water leaked out of the door, just a tiny trickle. I don’t know if that’s related.

Anyone know what E54 means?

Hi,

Very simple really, E54 means a communications error. This is communication between the user and the board. 😉

What happens is that people often press the start button too quickly after pressing the once it needs too start or, inadvertently, pressing the button twice very quickly. This causes a “communication error” as the electronics get baffled as to what the user is trying to do and aborts as it’s unsure.

The default is the safest value of course so resetting the program is the best option as opposed to washing with the wrong program or setting/s.

So, the water is totally unrelated and I would suspect that it’s a bit that’s been left as I’ve yet to come across a leak on an AW23 due to the way the drum is tilted for the 3D washing.
