Okay, there’s a lot of aprehension right now (and rightly so) out there and in here over this whole Electrue/NESN affair so here’s my anyalsis thus far:
Soon Electrue will issue a termination notice to NESN, probably in January.
NESN will respond with a work stoppage of some kind.
The reason that they will do this and the reason that JT is taking this tact is because he’s talking to DSG directly and thinks he can end run around Electrue and get the work directly blaming them for admin problems. He’ll try to sell the concept to DSG on the basis that he can get spares cheaper and save DSG money. He will fail.
If i were a betting man I’d bet on RF being the smarmiest fucker of the two and far smoother than JT could ever hope to be and he’s DSG through and through. Add to that his buddie BH behind the scenes there at DSG and it’s not a contest.
So then Electrue will hound about the country signing up agents.
Some they will coerce into signing the contract but I very much doubt that at the rate and with the conditions that they will get UK wide cover. Added to which you will still have NESN fighting for it’s existance in the market and enforcing the contract terms to fuck up Electrue. Some will of course be bought, but it won’t be an easy time for either.
Meanwhile the trade, our trade, will suffer the fallout of this battle, we will suffer.
Some businesses are almost certain to collapse under the weight of all this and the frigging about that they’ll do along the way.
