I have a Whirpool upright freezer AFG 8060.
It is 18 months old and has recently started to misbehave.It will not run on the factory default temperature ( -18c ) without the display flashing and making a loud chattering noise.
It does seem to want to run when set to -17c, but even on this setting frequently displays the same symptoms.
The fault usually shows up at teatime – when people are perhaps arriving home from work – but not every day. The temperature has to be reset perhaps after several attempts, in order to get it to run again.
Can any one out there offer any suggestions as to what might be the cause?
