ModeratorI have not been out to this machine, customer says that a local firm ( known to me :rolls: ) replaced the oven thermostat a few months ago because the cooker was overheating, they replaced it again a few weeks ago but she has had an oven thermometer inside and says it is still overheating badly.
The problem is, she thinks it is over 25 years old and the rating plate is rather obscured.
She has given me some numbers but they don’t seem to stack up to me.
From the top of the plate down she thinks they are.
GB103101HCSG
112OFOGB/01
207136240V
Do any of those mean anything to anyone and are oven stats still available for 25 year old Neff ovens?Jim.

Hi Jim
Most probably a U1120F0GB/01 8) 😀
Not sure which stat is to which cavity so as you look at oven, the stat used on the furthest right hand side selector is p/no 081958 and the one next to it is p/no
082388.HTH
Greg
PS- As for availabilty, Im not sure 😕

That sounds like it could be the correct one, she did say it was a single oven but I suppose she could just be describing incorrectly. I will give her a ring tomorrow to ascertain which is the main oven control but at £56 for the part alone she may not want to bother on an old model like this.

Built to last and worth the fix IMHO 😉

Any other reason apart from stat likely to cause it to overheat, knowing the peeps who have been out to this I suspect they may not have fitted a gen or correct stat. 😥

Still not getting anywhere with this, customer insists it has only one door with the grill inside the single oven cavity. She also thinks there might be a letter B before the U20F0GB/01 but that doesn’t bring up anything on the BSH parts site.
Also said he only charged her £60.00 for job in total. This firm sell loads of recon, graded and other downright dodgy gear, most of their spares come from appliances they have for breaking up, would guess that is where these stats came from.
I fear I may walk away from this, god knows what they may have done to the wiring etc. 😥

Waahay, that looks like the beast, can you still get wiring info, just in case they have done some kind of lash up. she said that it reached over 160° when set to 100° yesterday.

Hi Jim, Have looked up on old micro fiche and GB1031 01 HCSG is listed three times 195 306 492 & 195 306 493 & 195 307 136 ( listed on BSH site ). The thermostat for oven is 081958 the other thermostat 082353 is for grill. The oven is circotherm only so if it is over heating I would go for 081958 thermostat if fan motor fails oven would under heat as thermostat phial is next to heater.Only other thing is wired wrong. I should have wiring diagram for this if Greg hasn’t. Regards clayside

Thanks for that, I have already ordered that stat, and Greg has sent me some info in German 😉 As with most stats it appears to have only two connections so I should manage, unless they have been playing around with the selector switch mounted in front of the stat.

Sorted this one out today, as I suspected the stat fitted by the local cowboys was a second hand one, it had a rating of 317°, the new genuine BSH stat was rated at 250°.
