Hi there, because of an unfortunately narrow porch doorway (27″), I am looking for advice on any recommended makes of side-by-side style fridge freezers that could fit. This would include models that could if the doors are taken off.

I have checked several makes out, and it seems that Samsung make several that should fit comfortably. However, I am gnawed by fear after reading all the posts here about people being plagued with issues from the manufacturer. Do the newer models suffer the same problems?

Comet offer taking the doors off, which doesn’t seem to be that common an on option when enquiring at different shops.

I would love to get an Admiral, but the depth is problematic. Does anyone know if any of the recommended models from UKW would be able to fit such a narrow opening without the doors? I am not having much luck finding information online from this company.

    Thanks in advance!

    Ray.

At 27″ you’ve got no chance I’m afraid. Internal doors are usually 29″ external 32″.

If you insist on buying a huge american style fridge/freezer then something has to give. Taking the door frame out completely, whilst impractical is not impossible. Also if you have a uPVC window nearby, that can easily be removed to allow the f/freezer to be hauled inside. Removals firms are well versed in that job let me tell you. 😉

How did the removals firm get your 3 piece suite in by the way? :rolls:
