Our Baumatic oven has to be replaced. It has had a couple of new selector switches in the last year and now the repairman says that it would be a waste putting a new one in as it would just blow too. I don’t want another Baumatic as I am not very impressed with any of the appliances in this kitchen but don’t know where to start looking, whether another make would fit in the space, how much I should pay…. Any help appreciated.

    Hi

Is this a single or double oven and is it under the worktop or in a housing as waist height?

Single or double oven? Free standing or built in? Built in wall unit or under counter top? What is the size of the cavity in height (H) width (W) and depth (D)…?

Hi sorry so slow. It’s a single oven built in at waist height in a unit, with microwave and cupboard above, drawers below and fridge freezer to right. Dimensions are 59cm x 59cm x 59cm. Haven’t really thought about budget as don’t know what ovens cost, but prepared for reasonable amount.

Single built in single oven it is then 😀

As with everything these days you do get what you pay for. Single ovens start around the £159 for a B&Q “special” up to the £1000+ mark.

Brands IMO to look out for would be Bosch,Gorenje, Hotpoint and Neff. Price range of these brands approx £200 – £800. There’s something in these ranges for most people.

A little research on these websites should give you a good idea of the functions and twiddly bits you might need, armed with this info you are then ready to hit your’e local high St.

    HTH 😀

Thank you Don. I’ve had a look online and now off to Currys with my eye on a Neff. The shoppers’ reviews were good for e twiddly bits!
