I need to compile a service phone number listing of all those ‘obscure brands’ that don’t appear in most phone books, and need someone to fill in the blanks for me please 🙂

    ASEA, BALAY,BEEKAY,BLOMBERG,CARAVELLE,CARLTON,COOKERS,
    DE DIETRICH,DIPLOMAT,DITRONIC,DOMAR,FAGOR,FRIGIDAIRE,
    GORENGE,HANSEATIC,HIRUNDO,HUSQVARNA,HYGENA,JUNO,
    KELVINATOR,KUPPERSBUSCH,MONDIA,OCEAN,PROWODA,SAMET,
    SMEG,TECHNIC,THOMPSON,ZANKER,ZEROWATT

If you can help with the ‘odd’ one or two, so much the better, Thanks 😀

    Re: Need some phone numbers?

A lot of those you’ll find through the use of our handy little “Weblinks” section. 😉

    Diplomat/Hygena is 0845 7959722

Fagor is 01245 320992 for service

Gorengie is BSH whatever that is.

    Ocean/De Dietrich is Brandt on 0870 607 0675

    Kuppersbush/Teka is 01235 821288

Zerowatt is Candy/Hoover, forgot that one.

Zanker is defunct I think and was Zanussi? Not sure on that one.

Frigidaire is ISDAL, forgot that one too. 😕

    Balay :con:

Beekay was a budget brand of Bauknecht IIRC and long gone.

Blomberg could be several, but generally Comet in the UK for service.

    Caravelle I think is gone.

    Carlton is Currys

    Cookers is EAC – 0870 9099100

    Ditronic :con:

Domar is Antonio Merloni product, hell knows who does that, probably GBDAR on 01942 601604

    Hanseatic :con:

Hirundo, is that a board game? 😆

Husqvarna should be Electrolux I think.

    Juno, can’t remember.

Kelvinator in the UK ONLY is Candy/Hoover

    Mondia is Currys

Prowada the customer probably shouldn’t have bought in the first place! 😆

Samet is one of the big ones I think that own the name, shouldn’t be in the UK from memory.

    Smeg is 0870 4447002

Technic, is a brand name for Moben/Kitchens Direct, could be Fagor in a dress, Whirlpool or BSH, you pays your money…

    Thompson :con:

Will that keep you amused for a bit Martin? Not bad the majority from memory there.

If my memory is correct I am sure Hirundo was a Servis Quartz badged. I can remember selling them about 20 years ago but have not seen them since.

memory isn’t what it used to be, but I think Hirundo was something to do with Indesit a very long time ago.

I stand corrected Chezza. Your right, it was Indesit.

Was it an early digital model with a brown fascia, think that is where I got the quartz from.

Hirundo? Maybe some are confusing them with Hitachi, which were a re-badged Servis as I recall.

Thanks for the other numbers by the way…duly added to the list 😉

    Martin,

Is this for me to publish on UKW?

If it is do you fancy expanding a little on the idea while we’re about it? 😈

Kind of I guess, if you wish (seems like a good thing though that it should be) but I just thought that I personally needed to extend my own phone book. I get inundated with calls from customers, emails etc from those desperate to get there machines fixed that fit into what I call the ‘obscure!’…many of which I won’t touch anyway, but I do like to help them in the hope they will return.

The ‘Weblinks’ listing incidentally is indeed very comprehensive and those that are using the site can get the info they require from it. 😀 However those NOT on the Internet but instead on the phone to me asking, I would like to pass on answers just the same 😉

I’m thinking on a new section in the directories, which is ideal to list each manufacturer’s details as we have them and perhaps some comments on what WE think of the appliances, company and back-up from them, just general opinions from the trade.

So we’d have to collate it etc, but I don’t think it would be impossible to do. 😉

Well then, as you well know as far as UKW is concerned, nothing is impossible 8) *

    Re: Need some phone numbers?

Asea will be …hmm ….Servis UK but I bet they never heard of em if you were to ask.

Hirundo was an indesit badge, a very popular one too at one time that I totally forgot about.
