KeymasterMy Dishwasher ran overnight, and was still running this morning. The motor was running on what appaered to be the water extraction cycle and the drying cycle as everything was still hot.
The in cycle light was on, I switched the machine off but nothing happened when I switched it back on apart from the mid cycle light tcoming on.

colinm,
Can you please give us the exact model number of your dishwasher as “54340” does not show up?
The number is usually enscribed on the inner part of the door adjacent the door latch 😉

Well you nearly got is correct that time, It’s actually an S4340X0GB/20, that’s why I couldn’t find it listed 🙂
Hard to say in fact what’s likely to have happened though in this case? Has the machine drained off all the water? Is the filters and especially the bottom of the sump clear of debris to allow the pump to drain?
If the programmer is stuck mid-cycle, try pressing the 2nd programme button and the 6th at the same time. That should allow the timer to skip to the end after a few short moments. Then try it again (assuming you’ve since cleaned the sump that is!
Any more specific detail from you would be appreciated 😀

Flooded base I reckon from internal leak.

Hi Martin
Checked the filters and the sump all clean. Tried resetting the timer with the buttons but the 2nd button postion is blank. Found that I could reset the programmer by turning it using a D shaped shaft.
Turned programmer until in cycle light went out, checked everything for leaks etc run machine on short programme which appeared to work OK. Will run this evening on the normal programme and see what happens.
When pumping water out pump is noisy so it may be that that needs replacement. or maybe the programmer just got stuck.

Hi Boro
Where would I look for an internal leak? There is no water in the sump and water levels in the manifold in the side of the machine seem to be Ok. Checked the Micro switch in the manifold that changed over OK. Initially I thought that wasn’t working.

Colin,
I would seriously suggest you call in a local independent engineer to sort the problem for you and service the machine whilst he is there. Several components need careful inspection and electrically testing in order to rectify this fault. We do not condone DIY repairs for obvious safety and liability reasons I’m sure you will appreciate.
The repair cost will be economically viable on such a quality product with years of good service ahead of it! 🙂
