ParticipantHi, I have a Neff B1320N01-GB Oven, having read the forums I think I need a new element….
Over the years the oven has kept tripping the RCD and on two previous occasion we have replaced with non genuine parts not realising this was a false economy.
In the past couple of weeks it has been repeatedly tripping the RCD, when putting the power back on the oven sporadically would just carry on heating, sometimes tripping another one or two times but ultimately would still work. We found starting on a lower temp and once up to temp then turning up would work better. We thought perhaps element was a bit loose or something…..so took it off and cleaned terminals etc and reconnected and now it just trips every few mins and won’t work anymore! Heat does still generate if only for a few mins.We want to get a genuine Neff part but not at £80 like our local service centre quoted!! It seems you can get them for around £20-£25 however I am not sure which one is correct.
I found Neff 5546-0 Fan Oven Element part no. 262180 was compatible for our oven but seems this is an old part and may have been super-ceded by part no. 493065 (although last post about this was 5 years ago so this could be well out of date!)
I hope I haven’t rambled too much, just trying to give as much info so we get the right part 🙂
Thanks in advance for your help

ParticipantThe genuine heater ring for your oven is now 499003 and should cost around £46+VAT direct from BSH appliance care (BSH ACL are the is the coverall name for Bosch Siemens Neff )

Thank you for the information, will look into that part, we don’t want to spend that much money, this will be the third replacement by which time we probably could of replaced the oven!! Want to spend as little as possible 😕
This thread mentioned a part that seems cheaper, is this part still ok?
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ight=b1320Sorry I don’t think I made myself clear on first post, I want to use a genuine part in terms of it being a “pattern part” and not being a branded one/OEM one
Thanks again 🙂

ParticipantSorry , i can’t help with a ‘non-genuine’ part advice. Although It does seem strange if you’ve had 3 elements fail……the genuine part is a very robust element and i’ve yet to replace one more than once . It might be worth checking to make sure the door hinges are closing the door properly and that the oven fan is spinning at full speed.
The first is easy to check as there should be no play in the door at all when it is closed. The second is more an ‘ear’ thing , listening to the fan to see of its running at full speed.

Thank you for the info about trying the door and fan, they are fine. It is something to do with the electrics in this house! Almost a 10 year old house and we went through hundreds of light bulbs in the first few years until I tried low energy and they haven’t blown in 6 or so years! Gone through kettles and microwaves and tumble dryers, the list goes on. Have had the electrics checked and no noticeable fault other than potentially power surges, it happens to all our neighbours as well.
We are thankfully moving in the next year or so, so we don’t intend to spend too much money on appliances in that time. We are going to risk getting a cheaper non genuine and hope it lasts us out. Fingers crossed! Thanks again for the advice

if its carrying on heating after youve turned it off it isnt the element – it sounds like the regulator, or maybe the thermal cutouts are shot. the element is a passive device, it heats up when electricity is fed to it, it wont heat up on its own unless its being fed electricity. a regulator/stat not operating correctly would be conclusive with elements blowing on a more regular basis

KeymasterI have had the same problem. It seems that my fan is not spinning at full speed. I don’t know quite what the next step might be. Should I order a replacement for the fan or is there some other element that would need to be replaced? Thanks in advance for your help.
