I moved into this house 18 months ago and the Neff oven was already here with no user manual. I’ve tried to get one but according to the Neff website they are out of print.
I’ve never used the timer as I have no idea how to set it. Last summer my dad decided to try and set the clock to the right time and he started it ticking. We tried all kinds of settings to try to get it to stop (the oven didn’t come on at all, so it wasn’t activated), and the only thing that worked was to give it hard thumps. It would be quiet for a few hours then start making the noise again. Another thump and it stopped, until eventually it gave up and was permanently quiet. All was fine until last week when a friend’s young daughter twiddled the knobs and set it ticking again. Now it is really loud and nothing will stop it. It’s driving me insane and giving me headaches. I don’t even want to be in the same room with it! How can I stop it? Even the thumping doesn’t work now.

Best option is to fit a new clock (part no 00263600) and at £84 it’s well worth it.

More chaotic bodge option (not recommended) is a squirt of WD40 into the back of the clock unit and pray. An idiotic choice made worse if you don’t power off first…..!

Thanks for the advice Martin. I’m reluctant to pay £84 for something I never use, so I think I’ll just see if I can find someone in the area who can disconnect the unit – snip a wire or something!
