Hello, I wonder if you can help me with my NEFF B1430 fan oven, the main element failed with a bang today, blowing the fuse in the house fuse box. After replacing the fuse the fan still works though the element obviously does n’t. The grill element also does not heat up, turning the temperature knob the red light does not come on. Does this mean that the thermostat has failed? Did this cause the main element to overheat and fail? Is there an emergency thermostat or thermal fuse? One final point is that the oven light is on all the time now.
Any suggestions or recommendations on which parts to replace would be gratefully received?

At least you will have got the turkey cooked – just as well it didnt fail a few days earlier.

Sounds like the element fail has caused a spike that has taken out the electronic control unit.

Not sure about the price for this, can any one else help ?

The fan oven element has gone for sure. Stat light on permanently suggests that the contacts in the the thermostat have welded shut. If you can post up the full eNr number, we may have a chance of narrowing it down for you.

Thanks for your comments, thankfully the Christmas turkey was cooked without problem!
I’m not convinced that the controller is damaged, the clock and minute timer still work fine. I have removed the main element and it is definitely “fried”, also tests open circuit. My instinct would be to change the thermostat and main element and if that fails get someone in to fix it.
The thermocouple wire appears to go from the temperature controller knob and fits into a tube above the main element at the back of the oven. Is that correct? Presumably you have to remove the oven from the kitchen unit to feed a new thermocouple in.
The E number of the oven is NEFF B1430BOGB/01 if that helps.
    Thanks for any further advice.

Fan oven element is HERE. Thermostat is p/no 084699 and does not seem to be in the shop@ facility. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to order it promptly for you.

Yup, oven will have to be removed from the housing to fit the thermostat, although it is basically a screwdriver job.

    Thanks for your support

I have now replaced the thermostat ,oven element and a temperature limiter that had also failed. I took out the selector switch and the contact which controls the oven light was welded closed. I prised this apart and everything is working properly again except that when selecting the fan oven sometimes only the grill fan comes on without the oven fan. Can anyone confirm that when oven is selected both fans should operate? I suspect that there is a fault with the selector switch, though it appeared to be ok when I removed it to check the contacts. Is there any other explanation, perhaps a loose contact to the oven fan? Thanks for any help you can give.
