ParticipantOven decided not to heat up today 🙁 fan is blowing so assume heater element has gone. Have ordered replacement but was wondering if it can be replaced from inside or do I have to take the oven unit out. Thanks in advance for any help.

I *think* you can fit this one from the front.
Power off, though.

Thanks for that; I suppose what I should have asked was whether it was simpler to take the unit out and replace the heater element from the rear rather than trying to do it from inside the oven. I installed it myself and left plenty of slack in the mains cable for such contingencies. I will of course isolate the mains before working on it 😀

Take the inner rear panel off to reveal the element. If you can see screwheads, you can do it without taking the unit out.
Nice long power cable was a good plan though. 😀

Well I managed to remove the old element and sure enough it meters as dead, but I notice that the element I have on order (ELE2044) no longer has the earth connection, which seems a bit of a backward move to my way of thinking, or am I missing something? Surely it’s better to have a solid earth connection rather than relying on the chassis screws. So am I right in thinking I just need to lose the existing earth wire somewhere safely out of the way as it is now redundant?

Centre earth tag not been used for years on these elements 😉
If you are worried about poor earthing of element via chassis, I wouldn’t 😀
Im sure you aren’t goint to be touching the element under normal operation 😆Greg
