ParticipantI was using the oven yesterday, it started heating up and then stopped. I know it heated up as the food was partially cooked, but then it started to cool down.
I checked the temperature as I sometimes do by turning the temperature down, it was set on 220 (cooking bread) and after 15 minutes it was just below 100.
Whilst it was running we heard a pop/bang, it was not loud and we do not know if it was related.
Now none of the elements heat up. We turned it off overnight, turned it back on and still none of the elements heat up.
Any advice as to how and if this is fixable please.
My husband is an electronics engineer so if anything needs replacing we are fine, but just not sure how to go about testing for something like this.
Thank you

You’ll need to pull it out and check if the ‘temperature limiter’ (aka thermal fuse) has popped. As well as checking each element and the main selector switch. Power off before investing. :zap:
The full model number (ENr no) would be useful to have as there are many variants of B1442 😉

Thank you. We pulled it out and had a visual check on it, nothing looked suspicious. Didn’t want to poke around too much as whilst we know electronics we do not know ovens, so it was literally a look to see if there was anything that looked wrong.
Full number is B1442NOGB/01
We are currently awaiting an email reply from Neff as well. Slightly worried if it is the thermal fuse, didn’t actually see one (would it be near the thermostat please?) but if that has popped then something must have made it pop, would that not just continue on?
Thank you for your help.

Using visual checks alone reveals little though occasionally when elements ‘pop’ it is all too apparent especially the circular fan element. The limiter is located attached close to the oven cavity near the cooling fan housing. Two choices really, either full inspection using a test meter or back away and call in a local independent repairer who can fix it quicker, and far far cheaper than Neff.
HTH? 😀

Thank you, now we have more idea of what we are looking for the meter will be coming out later. The reason I emailed Neff was they have been helpful in the past, no way on this earth would I call them in to repair it. We have a friendly repairer but he is on holiday at the moment. We will go no further if we find we do not know what we are doing, my husband is an electronics engineer, just not in ovens lol
