Oven worked fine until one day I used the non-fan mode. Then nasty smell/smoke. Since then, in fan assisted mode the fan rotates very slowly and the floor of the oven stays cold. The top fan still works and the top gets hot. 😥

Is this just a case of replacing the main fan motor and the bottom element?
If so, which parts do I need and how much?

Probably greasey fumes have gone into fan assist motor. A common occurance with fan ovens Im afraid.
Floor of cavity will be cold in fan assist cooking mode as it does not use the element in the base.

Fan oven motor unit is p/no 096825 – £62.00 GBP from Neff but try shop@ and always switch off before attempting any repair :plug:

Thanks for the speedy response. The fan will need to be replaced.

However, I have two identical ovens side-by-side and the bottom of the working oven gets very hot in fan mode – as soon as its switched on.

Surely, this means the bottom element is on in fan mode.

under normal operation, the bottom will get hot due to the cavity getting hot but it NEVER puts the lower element on in fan assist mode.

    Ok – understood.

    Thanks for your help.

PS. I notice that most of the manufacturers use the same part number 096825. Is it the same fan – in which case I could use any of them.

Re – Other manufactures same part no-

I wouldnt have thought so. If it was Bosch,Siemens or Gaggenau I would say yes but not any other makes
