I’m having a problem with a NEFF oven. According to the customer the glass lamp cover was stuck, so he gave it a belt to slacken it (which worked), but the cooling fan switched on and wouldn’t go off. I assumed that he had damaged the thermostat attached to the lamp holder and replaced it (obviously it all comes as one complete unit), but it is still running all the time. The new thermostat is oc – something tells me it shouldn’t be…

    Any help would be appreciated.

If its the thermostat/time lag switch bolted to the lamp assy then yes , it should be open circuit. It only goes closed circuit once it heats up .

So that doesn’t explain why the fan is stuck on…

If anyone else has had a similar problem I’d appreciate any input.

I’ve just re-read my post and realised I’ve written open when I meant closed. Wednesday wasn’t a good evening to try and do anything work related…

It must be a faulty thermostat on the replacement. The oven had been on earlier in the day, but it was cool by the time I arrived.
