Hi everyone. Please excuse the newbie!

After an accident at New Year, I had to replace the inner glass on my oven (which turned out easier than I thought) but when the time came to put the door back on, after making some worrying crunching noises, something went ‘sproing’ and now one (and only one) of the hinges now seems to be locked into its “locked” state.

I had a look here – http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix- … inges.html – but taking the whole door outside to a slab to exert pressure isn’t really an option, and I’m lacking the special screwdriver needed to remove the hinge itself

What’s my best option? Try and force the hinge out of its locked position? How much force would it need, and is there any risk of breaking the hinge? Any special considerations about what angles the force should be applied at?

    Thanks in advance.

Using a pair of Molegrips simply pull the retracted lever back and carefully place the ‘Locking Tab’ in its locked position. Once the tab is locked (see drawing) then release the Molegrips lock. Mind your fingers…..!
