ParticipantI have a Neff oven model number B1641A2GB that we were using last night that just popped and stopped working.
I have checked the power from the RCD to the Switch and all the power is present up to the oven. However the lights do not work anymore and there is no clock or fan.It is completely dead.
Could this be the main control unit blown? and is there an easy way to replace this part?
Interesting to know if there are any fuses on it that could be replaced. If not is this part easy to get hold of and is it easy to replace?
All help appreciated.

Have you checked the terminal block where the mains cable connects to the oven? Sometimes you get a terminal burnt out there if the wiring was not secure.

Thanks very much for that, I will double check the connectors at the rear of the oven.
I did notice some dark burn marks on the main control unit nearest the point where the selector comes out. This is what made me think that that might have blown.
All help appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I have checked the connectors and all good no burn marks and power going to the connectors fine. I think I must me the controller unless there is something else you can recomend.
All help appreciated as Neff havbe quoted me £230 parts plus £85 call out to repair it. I can get a new oven for that.

Another thing to check is any thermal fuses or TOCs. Sometimes there is such a device near the top of the oven to protect the controls from overheating.

In answer to your question
I do not have warranty and it is is the main controller that has failed causing a seam of solder to blow. There is good power everywhere on the machine until the controller where the solder had split away and there is no continuity.
Can you suggest a suitable way forward or is the only alternative now to replace the main controller.
All help appreciated
