Neff built in combi microwave – C17MR02N0B/38 – grill came on while microwaving

This is rather unusual one.

Basically customer says the grill came on when using the microwave, obviously had melted the plastics from supermarket frozen lasagne or something like that while microwaving.

I thought it was the setting as micro/grill but it was set as microwave and this should not been happening. I have unplugged the machine and left it for 10-15 mins and start again, no difference.

Any ideas? Not looked at the board yet, the appliance hasn’t been repaired before and it is 5 years old.

got to be a board problem

check relay first if ok look to see if there is any damage that might link tracks together and fire up both at the same time

Does microwave fire up if you select grill ?

Thanks Dave,

I did wonder if it is the board by looking at the parts diagrams and the pictures of the board. Will try the grill setting and see if it is activating the microwave.
