The main fan oven element has burnt out, sparks etc. I changed it but no good. Took the back off and found the temperature limiter was toast. Fitted new one and now the oven works but it has no temperature control. Is there a right or wrong way to fit the limiter, is it the thermostat or something behind the control knob. The top oven works OK. Need urgent reply. Thanks.

    Hi murrad,

It has most likely taken out the thermostat when the element blew, this is not unusual.
It is also pssible that the selector switch that the stat piggy back’s onto may also be damaged because the elements really go with a bang sometimes when they go 🙄

    Remember power off 😉

    Regards

    Del

Selector s/w may also be goosed aswell as stat.have known this a few times now.

Normally when customers have an old fashioned “rewirable fuse box”.
