Usually there’s a screwdriver slot cut into the rotar at the back of the motor (not every model though!) Simply turn with screwdriver blade, if it wont turn it’s either siezed or there is something obstructing the impellor.
Saves having to get inside the pump to check 😀

brian, this one hasn’t got a slot but by turning the motor by the fins it only moves reluctantly, so it looks like something in there. question, how do you get the motor out to change it? i did a bosch d/w some while ago and i turned it upside down and lifted the whole plastic base. is this the way in or is there a more straightforward method?

Hi Richard, I am not familiar with that particular model. But usually on Bosch & Neff m/c the motor is mounted on the right hand side of the machine (looking from the front) & in the past I’ve accessed the motor by removing the right side panel, which usually is very easy to remove held on with a couple of screws; course it does mean easing the machine forward in order to get to it.
Hope this helps,

OK, to remove the motor first you must remove the door from its hinges, front, top and side panels off. Disconnect tub fixings, salt container cap and locking screw, lift away top spray arm mounting. Disconnect the fill matix and lay it clear of tub. Remove the tub fixing screws (4) front and rear. Then carefully lift the whole tub off and away!
Then you can access the motor correctly to effect a repair. The same procedure applies to accessing the instantaneous water heater. 😉
Several ‘short-cut bodge’ type methods have been mentioned in the past throughout the many UKW tech pages on the subject of Bosch/Neff/ Siemens dishwashers, but the method I advise is the only correct procedure. 8)
