ParticipantHeyoh,
I’ve the above Neff d/w and I can’t get it to actuate the water pressure switch on the heater box, therefore, I cant get it to heat.
I can move the plunger manually with a screwdriver and it heats fine but it moves back again when i let go.I thought initially i had water level problems as the transfer tube was mostly blocked, but cleaning it has not helped.
I even threw in water after filling had stopped to see if it was low, but it immediately pumps out what I add when I close the door again. Can the actuator on these heater box’s get blocked/stuck or am i still maybe looking at water level problems?
Is it possible to strip the heater box and clean it up?Dave

Not sure what you refer to as “the actuator?” But from what you tell us it does sound as though the water point diverter is stuck between both outlet ports. New heater the cure.

No!

By actuator, I mean the plunger that actuates the micro switch, which I assume is water activated.
It’s not stuck between ports as the water is working to the arms individually during the cycle.

I take it there is plenty of water flowing through the spray arms then? if so then Heater change the only solution I reckon.

There is plenty of water Martin, it just doesn’t seem to be able to make the micro switch.
I’ll order a heater so.February 6, 2013 at 9:03 pm #389598nomadPaul

Plenty of water but what about the motor ? Could the impellor be partially blocked and causing low circulating pressure ?

Appears to have good circulating pressure. Popping the door open during the cycle, although not an exact measuring system, seems to be producing a decent spray.
I’ve not yet gone down the road of pulling out the motor yet though.
I think I’ll pull out the motor and heater before I order anything just on the off chance that I’ve a blockage somewhere, as I posted earlier, all I have to do is pull gently on the plunger and the micro switch makes and it heats away fine, it just won’t seem to do it on its own!D

You can see into the circulating pump Impellor with a small dentist like mirror (works a treat). It sounds from what you say to have enough uumph in the circl pump for that not to be an issue though. Best of luck in your search!

Indeed I have such a mirror but never thought of looking into the impeller with it, I’ll do that before I start stripping it down, cheers.

Just realised i forgot to reply with my findings.
I looked in the pipe to the wash motor from the sump with a mirror and sure enough it was blocked! Cleaned it out with a small hook and hey presto it’s up and running.
Thanks Martin and everyone else.Dave
