ParticipantCan anyone help with a Neff dishwasher?
Not sure of the model but from the instruction manual it could be a s3132 or s 4132 or s 4130 or s 4134. It was made c. 1995 and is the kind with a decorative panel attached to the front, built into the kitchen.
The problem is that it sticks as it runs through the programme in two places, so it can’t be left unattended, otherwise it would wash forever.
If the programme knob is clicked on a few degrees from either of the two sticking points it continues to work as normal until either the next sticking point or the end of the cycle.
Any advice would be apppreciated.
Thanks

A heater circuit problem I would suspect. Is the water heating at the point where it sticks? The timer stops and waits for the thermostat to make the circuit at the right temperature before restarting. By the same token a thermostat failure would lead to lots of hot water, but still no timer advance. Broken wiring in the door also a possibility.
Pull the plug if you are going to investigate :plug:

Does the machine appear to heat the water, and when it sticks does it wash or drain continuously, or does it sit there doing nothing?

ParticipantPenguin45 and Clive,
There does not appear to be anything wrong with the water heating. When it sticks it just keeps on running the wash (first sticking point) or the rinse (second sticking point).
Thanks, fixx

The machine will heat the water twice, once in the wash and once in rinse. A thermostat/wiring problem will produce the exact symptons that you have described.

Sound like the 65 degree stat is o/c.
M/C just bouncing off 85 degree stat.

KeymasterRe: Neff dishwasher
I’m not an expert but I think I know what the problem is as it was happening to my Neff. My one used to stop twice exactly as you’ve described.
The black hose between the sump and the measuring tank is probably partially blocked, remove it, thoroughly clean it and refit it and all should be ok.
You’ll probably find that the partial blockage is causing the measuring tank to overfill. The pressure switch on the inlet valve is sensing this and is preventing further filling, so the machine stops. Manually advancing allows the machine to progress a little further but only until the pressuse switch detects the same problem again further into the wash cycle. My machine eventually got worse, you can read about it here
