I have not been out to this dishwasher yet and the customer could not give me the model number, she says that she sets a program but when she goes to close the door just before she shuts it the lights go out and is dead. If she then opens the door a bit it comes back into life with the lights showing. I suspect a loose or damaged cable but would like some advise on where to start looking or any known place this could happen.
    Many Thanks

It depends obviously on the model and age, but if it is an old SMS type machine (heater visable inside) its more than likely to be the loom where it comes into the door, if so it may need a new loom/harness. Also check the door switch as they have a bit of a reputation for failing on the early ones.
If its a later one with the Instantanious water heater its less likely to be the loom, if its a later electronic type I would suspect a dry joint around the soldering to the transformer on the module.
    Hope this Helps
    Steve 😉

Or the old plug at the back of d/w which sticks to the black tar stuff. When opening/closing door pulls the plug away from the socket 😉
