Neff Dishwasher. Any tips on fitting a new spring to the tripping device on the dispenser drawer? The spring is stepped on one side, is there a certain way round?

This is how I did it (rightly or wrongly).
Fit spring arm to lid. Fit lid roughly in middle of tray at 90 degrees (with the two small lugs on the lid located in the tray groove. By moving lid closer to tray, say 45{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} you can manage to fit the spring to the tray. Lower lid flat to tray and slide back (open) until it can lie flush with tray. Make sure all the lugs on the lid are in the tray guides and slide forward (to close). With the new spring installed th back of the tray has to be pressed downwards to lock shut or it pops open.
Not sure which way round the spring is supposed to go: one arm of the spring is stepped. Anyone know??
