Neff dishwasher door won’t lock

Hi all this is a S51E50X0GB/21 integrated the door lock mechanism won’t keep the door locked the mechanism is staying in the locked position but the door can be opened easily I don’t see anything wrong with it , it operates ok it’s not grabbing the little indent on the door lip , it’ hasn’t been abused its in very good Nick otherwise anyone come across this before thanks

Have you tried pulling the machine out slightly to make sure its not the wooden door or kitchen unit that’s interrupting things?

i assume this is one of the later locks which are not as strong as earlier models

i have had similar problems with this unit

try removing lower basket and see if it closes better. had a customer that had put a plastic peice at the back of the basket that was putting pressure on the door

other problem i have had is levelling. if unit is not square in the unit or legs are lowered so much it puts pressure on the roof it causes door problems. try lowering the dishwasher legs and see if door gets better

check the u shaped hinge bearings have not dropped out.

big handle on lower basket had got bent out slightly. I bent it back to normal plus a bit more and that cured one that I went to.

with these new format ones quite often if theres marble top the kitchen fitters with have a wooden insert above the dishwasher front edge, but none on the rear, this can lead to them rockign about when opening closing eventually popping the back part of the catch out of its housing. could easily be stopped if bosch put a cover plate but i guess they expect it to be butted up against work top. simple job of popping back in, advise an identical baton is pitted at rear to stop rocking and jobs a gooden.

Thanks everyone for the info it had a granite worktop dishwasher secured at the sides on top it had moved slightly back into the units and while the door was hitting the lever to activate the lock it wasn’t in far enough to catch the dent in the door
