Neff Dishwasher Model s517p70y0g04 No comms !

This model throws a “no communication error”. No other number. Neff say it is the dishwasher ECU brain that needs replacing £300! A local tradesman says he doesn’t have the ability to download /firmware update the replacement part. Any ideas to save this from the scrapper ?

there are two boards in this machine both of which are available pre programmed

Neff say its the programmer but did they look at it or was it an educated guess over the phone

if it was a guess there will be a data cable between the 2 boards and this might cause the same errror

Thanks for you reply. It was just their guess.
I see there are two cables 0190 that looks like it is used to connect to the door screen PCB and 0390 related to the lock mechanism shown on the top of the unit. There are two flashing lights on the top panel presume this is just part of the fault. The other cables and harness are in the base of the machine. If it weren’t a cable can the boards be reflashed/ repaired ? I guess a specific fault or known issue would be needed first ?

repairing boards is a specialist task. the only one who may be able to is QER

As for re flashing it again is specialist and most probably manufacturer only

I would however check the cables running between the modules and look for damage / breakages etc
