ParticipantWe had an integrated NEFF dishwasher installed in January this year. Model is S5453X1GB/50.
On an earlier occassion the wash cycle ended but water was still in the bottom. We followed manual’s instruction and cleared out filters and pumps. Worked fine after (although nothing was found in the filters/pumps).
Now 2 months later seem thing has happened. Again I cleared out filter and pumps (no blockage found) but subsequent wash cycles are still ending with water left in the bottom. It appears the cycle is finishing too early as there is still foam in the bottom and glasses are still milky. Resetting machine does allow water to drain out so the pumps and filters are clear.
I recently added rinse aid – can putting in too much cause problems like the above? Any ideas what could be wrong?

If it overflowed from the dispenser then yes it can, it will cause over foaming which sounds like what may be happening.
Run it a few cycles empty with no detergent and see how it goes, otherwise, don’t tamper as it’s under warranty still and you may invalidate it (“Again I cleared out filter and pumps”).

Possibly interrupted on dry cycle.
m/c stops and does nothing for 20 mins. then pump kicks in.
Because it’s silent at this point people think m/c has finished and open door this “confuses” m/c.
Try restting.next time put it on and leave it.All should be ok.

No don’t think I interrupted drying phase – definitely waited for dishwasher to finish the programme before opening the door. The dishwasher beeps loudly to alert end of programme (and continues to do so until someone turns it off). So not sure if beep is coming on too early?
Have done a few cycles without detergent as Dave suggested and seems to be improving and the machine has drained at end of cycle. Will do a couple more cycles, and hopefully problem has been fixed.
THANKS

No,if buzzer sounds it has finished cycle.
As Dave says overdose of rinse aid could cause this.Rinse aid and cold water don’t mix.Causes lots of foam which can cause problems with m/c.
Keep rinsing it through and see how you go.

My Neff dishwasher is making a gurgling noise like it is trying to drain water. I have tried resetting the machine, draining out the remainder of the water and checking there were no blockages, but it is still not working. The water in our area is very hard so we put some drain unblocker liquid in it, not there is foam in the bottom of the machine that wont go away. Can anyone help?

Is the dishwasher making this noise all the time, no matter where the program is set?
If so, it has gone into fault mode, but just resetting the m/c won’t help.
That stuff in the bottom of the m/c needs rinsing through, but if the machine is in fault mode, it won’t fill, to prevent the machine from flooding your kitchen. 🙁
It might be time for the professionals, click here for an engineer…Repairs@
…and if your attemping a repair yourself, please unplug the m/c first. :plug:

After what seems to be a year of working ok (on and off) our NEFF diswasher ( S5453X1GB/50) seems to be ending too early on wash cycles again leaving foamy water at the bottom (yet the beeper is sounding to alert end of cycle).
I’ve tried doing wash cycles with no detergent as recommended last time in the forum but this time it doesn’t seem to get any better. Strangely on a plain rinse cycle the water drains out fine. I can do a few rinse cycles in a row and water will all drain out. As soon as I do a WASH cycle with no detergent, it leaves water in the bottom of the dishwasher and I have to reset it to drain it all out.
I actually had a NEFF representatitve come over to look at the machine in January but he said he couldn’t find anything wrong with it. However he didn’t put it thru a wash cycle when he was here, he just looked at all the parts.
What part of the wash cycle could be causing this?

Is it heating I wonder? Check during the wash and when it stops if the water is hot.

I’m using the FINISH tablets. However I’ve also tried a wash with dishwasher loose powder and the outcome is the same.
Yes the water is hot when the dishwasher beeper goes off. It seems to be at the end of a hot wash cycle and just doesn’t drain off….from the amount of soapy water left behind, it looks like it should go through another rinse stage before finishing, but stops too early.

By the sounds of it, I would be looking at a semi jamming drain pump due to the heat, as the rinse cycle is done in cold.
Un plug appliance whenever attempting repair :plug:

Thanks for your advice. Why would the drain pump semi jam with heat only? Is this something we could clear?

The heat would aggravate a worn pump bearing allowing it to jam on its housing. When it cools down, hey presto all works again and appears not faulty at all 🙂
