ParticipantGood afternoon everyone, got a little problem and hoping for some advice please.
I have a Neff dishwasher, it’s about 3-5 years old, below are the Type/serial numbers;
S5443X1GB/17
8102It’ not washing dishes as well as it used to before, basically dishes and cutlery are coming out with what looks like white salty residue or stains on them. Not all the dishes but a small amount are unclean, moreso with cutlery.
I’m pretty sure I’ve checked the filter and spray arms, and there’s no blockage or fault as far as I can tell, might double check them anyway.
The dishwasher on the inside is in perfect shape and no residue of any kind is being left in.
Just over a year ago I had a Neff guy come out and replace a faulty washer motor, and a technician came out about a month or so ago to look at this very problem I’m describing and said everything was working fine and there was nothing he could do. I’m pretty sure this isn’t the case since it’s still not cleaning properly.
Anyone know if Neff guarantee their work and will come look at it again since I paid for the service that time or they would charge again?
Anyone know what the problem might be or if there’s anything I can do or look into?
Thanks in advance.

Are you using salt in the salt container? If so is the lid secure?

Not using any salt, using a 3-in-1 tablet.

Ah well that could be the problem then or at least partly to blame?
75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the UK is hard water and thus requires softened water. Unfortunately the 3 in 1 tablets aren’t a miracle cure for this and salt needs to be added to the saltcontainer as well.
Can I suggest you try this for a month or more to see if there is any improvement?
Also with the machine not having had its water softener unit commissioned in this way causes long term problems with the water inlet/ water level unit. They can so easily get crudded up with limescale and start acting up.
By the way your machine is over 5.5 years old! 😉

Alright thanks Martin, I’ll try that out for a few weeks and report back. And I guess that’s about the right age of the machine, can never keep track of these things 🙂
