I’m fixing the soap dispenser on a Neff dishwasher S5443X1GB/13 and I’ve just replaced the actuator which now opens and closes okay, but I don’t know how long after turning the machine on that the actuator should activate the spring release. It starts after about 15 seconds. Is this correct or is it too soon – in which case which other part would be faulty please? Thanks.

On a normal cycle the dispenser actuator would operate around 10 -15 minutes into the cycle. On quick wash it would be in around 5 minutes or so. Essentially it only opens approx 5 mins into the main heated wash cycle and later at the end of the final rinse cycle to actuate the rinse aid injection.

If it operates immediately you switch the machine on then likely as not the actuator has in fact blown the trial on the main circuit board…….oh dear! 🙁

Thanks for that – a proper answer at last that even Neff couldn’t provide me! Does this mean replacing the circuit board and is that economic on a 10 year old dishwasher? Or should we just bung the tablet in after 15 minutes every wash?

    Cheers

Assuming your machine completes the cycle irrespective of this dispenser fault? That being the case then you merely need to place the tablet in the open dispenser and close the door, then start the machine as normal. The wash results will be just fine! Most 10 year old machine’s dispensers break and folks have no problem using that method anyway.
