have a fan assisted ring element failure on neff integrated oven B1920W0GB/02. last time i replaced i was sold a 2 terminal 2400W instead of a 3 terminal and told to fit eyelet crimp to earth wires and replace one self tapper with nut and bolt and secure earth through one mounting hole. This time i have located a three terminal element but read on the internet that NEFF no longer advise earthing the element, instead rely on the mounting screws. IS this correct and if so do i tie back the earth wires by twisting alongside other cables or do i cut and remove. The other option is to secure the eyelet or fit a spade crimp to earth on the 3 terminal element

Please write back soon, kitchen is upside down and im starving.

ok , had to crack on and fix it, so i connected only two power wires to the element and the original earth wires with the eyelet was securely fastened to the adjacent fan mount torx screws which is ideally placed to stop the redundant earth cables from going astray.

multimeter confirms element is earthed, also fitted some star washers to the element self tap screws for good measure

is this ok….. should i have fitted a spade terminal after all and earthd the 3rd terminal on the element?

either way it will be ok, as the new element (sounds like its not a genuine part then?) had a earth tag you may have well used it. The important thing is not leaving a dangling earth wire that may either short out or get caught up in the fan.
