    I have stripped right down to the fan motor When plugged in the motor just starts turning at speed 1 – I can take it up to speed 5 and back down again but it wont switch off. The earths seem fine, the lights switch on and off and there are no unusual noises or smells……….

    number is E-Nr-D 8990 NO GB FD 8001
    The shaft of the motor moves in and out freely

    Probably the ‘operating module’ (00264229) is at fault.

    Thanks for that but at 84 quid , I went out and bought another complete hood !
