I have removed a faulty oven element for our cooker however the spade terminal clips came off before I could establis their positioning on the new element. there are two leads each with two wires terminating on spade teminals. These I think are the main power supply to the element and a meter reading confirms 250v/ac across them, however there is also a single single wire again ending with a spade clip. My meter shows no voltage between this wire and the cooke chassis but I do not know where to clip this single wire to. The element has two separate posts each having a pair of spade recieving contact points also close to the two terminal end poits there is an all metal bridge with a single spade terminal post on it, I thought this might be an earth but am not sure?

    Any advice please?

the metal bridge with the terminal on it is an earth, if you are left with 3 wires then 2 wires should b the same in colour which go on 1 terminal and the single on another hope this helps smartin

Re: Neff fan oven element replacement

Many thanks for your very promt response. One pair of wires are yellow /green and is an earthed to the chassis, the other pair are red and white while the single wire is white with a black thin sprial round it this single wire leads up to the switch which controls the selection between Off Grill and Fan. One of the red wires lead to oven the other to the grill
the single white/black wire leads to a position in the slector switch for Off Fan & Grill
