Neff Fan Oven Replacement

I have a Neff U1721 under worktop double oven. The fan oven stopped heating up and I have identified the problem as the element. I have ordered a replacement element but am having some problems removing the old one.

I have taken out the screws securing the element’s two fixing plates to the back of the oven but cannot access the screw for the top fixing as the fan is in the way. I took the unscrewed the nut and washer from the LH threaded bolt the fan sits on but the fan is stuck fast. I haven’t applied a lot of pressure because I don’t want to damage it. Does anyone have any tips for getting the fan off the centre bolt without knackering it?

Hold the motor shaft with pliers or grips, then spin the fan blade, it will eventually spin more freely. You should then be able to pull the fan blade off the shaft with your grips.

Failing this, use a blow lamp to heat the blade.

Thanks for that, I got the fan off with a combination of effort and wd-40 in the end. Replaced the element okay but I think that when the element blew it may have somehow shorted to ground (the cooker circuit tripped when it went). The upshot is that there doesn’t seem to be any power going to the Fan oven, the light doesn’t even come on but the grill/top oven works fine.

After a little bit of investigation, the switch on the circuit board between the terminals marked 2 and 2a which I beleive supplies power to the fan oven seems to be broken. Terminal ‘2’ is essentially the mains live and terminal ‘2a’ goes off to the fan oven switch/thermostat etc. I came to this conclusion as there is a PD of 240v between neutral and the terminal marked ‘2’ and 0v between ‘2a’ and neutral. Is it a switch or some kind of fuse that needs to be replaced (any suggestions?)

It sounds like you need a new selector switch.

If you can post up the full Enr U1721GB/?? please I can check the part number/price etc for you.

Have you set the time clock ❓ It needs to be set to manual after loss of power .

Hi there

Having the same problem with the fan

Trying to replace element.

Have tried WD40 and blow torch, but to no avail can I remove the fan.

Just to reconfirm – thread needs to be going clockwise and the fan antilclockwise?

Is there no other way of getting the fan off?

I don’t want to mess up thread or I won’t be able to get the bolt back on, not that it needs one when it’s welded on?

Any help would be really appreciated

If its crescent element, you can just with a bit of force get a driver behind fan to remove THAT screw from 12 o clock position.

PS Dont worry about getting that screw back in with new element, just make sure that new element is flush back in correct position.

Thanks for the advice – had to undone screws for fan to to get enough room to top screw.

But finally got it off

Neff definatey don’t make things easy, however that fan seems like it will last forever!!!
