ParticipantCan anyone help on this?
The fault is the start light flickers (not a pulsed fault code) and the small display remains blank. The machine cannot be programmed or started. There is no earth fault and the 240V supply is good to the control board.
This machine is the one with the control board mounted on the centre strut above the drum and has a 2 part control board incorporating the small display and control knob in the fascia. My guess is it is one of the PCB’s probably the control board but I would like to be more certain before ordering a PCB at about £180 go.
Any advice will be appreciated.August 3, 2004 at 8:00 am #114789Dave_Conway

I know it may sound obvious but has the on/off switch been checked ?
I’m not sure how it’s wired, but I would magine 240V would reach certain parts of the main PCB even in the “off” position.
We’ve had loads of those switches fail.
Welcome to the site by the way 😀

The supply comes from the mains filter through the mains switch then straight to the PCB. As I am getting the 240v at the PCB I would assume the switch is probably OK.

It may well be the board then.
Try QER, they may do a test and repair service on those.

Oh Blimey! Thinking Module at this early stage may be a bit extreme without first trying the more likely 😉
As Dave suggests “Main On/Off Double pole switch???” (Remember Neff/Bosch do tend to have their circuits switched on the Neutral side?)
Also the favourite likely problem and the one that gets most abuse by users……The Door Interlock!!! (Part No 154077)…..Check that out also.
I think on that beast there is a ‘Delay Timer’ ??? not sure now but that could have been set accidentally????Dunno otherwise. 😕 😕
Not sure if QER could test the Module either, probably not 🙁

Thanks for the advice,
The switch is double pole, but I have checked both Live and Neutral at the PCB after the switch and both appear to be OK.
I did consider the door interlock but this is only a three wire variety and the fault is the same with the door open or closed so I thought it unlikley to be causing the problem.
Any other thoughts on this are welcome though……….

Just a thought before ordering expensive modules etc, check the pump is not open circuit, you never know.
