    Hi

My Neff freezer (G4344X0GB/42) is not cooling. No cooling effect at all – the inside door thermometer shows room temperature.

The fan runs, the compressor is hot (but not too hot to touch) and the lights inside the compartment operate.

Anyone got any ideas what the problem may be?

    Thanks

    Re: Neff Freezer

It’s either the compressor has failed to pump or there is a gas leak by the sound of it.

When you say fan, it’s the fan next to the compressor you refer to I assume ?

Directly in front of that is a block of pipework etc, make sure it’s not blocked with general gunk as the fan draws cool air through there to aid in the evaporation process.

Power off 1st of course :zap:

If all that seems OK, then my first lines apply, engineer to confirm though, repairs@ should be able to help 😀

    Dave.

I actually got the same problem with my neff freezer.
Which kind of price range should I expect for a new compressor or to fix if it is a gas leak?

Replacing a compressor these days will soak up the best part of £150-200 at least depending on the size of the compressor.

Gas leaks don’t happen (as a general rule) if the machine is not spanking new as it’s a sealed system, it can happen but it’s rare. And, if the gas has escaped (remember, sealed system) then you have to question why that is, there is always a reason and simply pumping more gas in won’t cure it, only delay the inevitable.

    K.
