Neff fridge freezer problem

Neff model no K8524X4GB/02. Integrated.

This fridge freezer stopped cooling with no signs of life other than the temperature light flashing and the interior light working.

After leaving overnight (switched off) it started up normally and ran perfectly for around 24 hours, only to revert to the previous state.

It is 10 years old, but is in very good condition.

I have contacted Neff and have two options: engineer visits (£95 plus parts) OR pay £15 per month for 12 months and have the engineer fix the problem (providing it is no more than £300).

Any armchair diagnostics/advice welcome.

When it ran for 24hrs did it cool, if so it sounds like a thermostat/control pcb issue. I would recommend getting your local guy out as he will be able to bypass the pcb to prove that it is faulty. Much cheaper than NEFFs option. Look at the find an engineer option on this site.

Have you tried Sedgemoor Appliances they are in Bridgwater?

Thanks mate, just phoned them and they don’t deal with Neff appliances. By the way, I did use the site search and engineer tool before my earlier post. It turned nothing up, presumably you didn’t specify Neff in yours.

There is an engineer in Taunton not a WTA Member but he is a good refrigeration engineer.
