This one had the internal fuse blown. Replaced fuse and it blew again used a higher rated one and tripping rcd now , i can get it to run by disconnecting the control board but the light goes out and it stops after 5 seconds , it will run with the mag disconnected also any ideas

replacing the fuse with a higher one is never a good idea and something i would not entertain.

i am assuming that when you remove the wires from the invertor part number 482202 that it no longer blows fuses but when you set it, it runs for a short time then stops.

you also say it runs with mag disconnected do you mean mag or mag and invertor? do a megger test on the mag. any reading to earth and it dead

if so you need to replace invertor and mag to be sure. and hope you have not damaged anything else by putting a bigger fuse in

    gen part look up here

best place to get invertor is ebay in my experience

Hi Dave , the neff site wont recognise the number im putting in i went onto connect site ,anyway is that part no 482202 the pcb with the invertor on it ? it will run with the invertor disconnected for a short time and with both disconnected for a long time , does the fact the bulb goes out have any bearing , thanks Kieran

    be careful your model is

    N0(zero)GB not NO(oh) GB

and you have to select the irish spare parts

if the main pcb detects that the magnetron has not started it aborts the programme

Hi again it will not run at all with the inverter connected and will run for 5 seconds with it unplugged it had the magnetron connected both times i can restart it also but i cant stop it then it just runs again for approx 25 seconds but i can keep restarting it

have you checked the mag for earth faults ?

Ok meggered the mag, .09 ohms on 200M ohms scale insulation zero ohms resistance between poles continuity looks like prob is the hv transformer or the inverter on the pcb what do you think Dave

Re: neff h5430nogb/02 microwave tripping rcd

if you are getting .09 ohms from the mag connections to earth its faulty

you should get a low ohms reading between the pins which is the mag heater and nothing to earth

very sorry Dave wrong way around , insulation comes up as over range , no reading on display and continuity is 0.09 ohms 200 ohms scale

Re: neff h5430nogb/02 microwave tripping rcd

If it is tripping an RCD then the inverter or wiring to it must be duff as the transformer on the inverter electrically isolates the high voltage side of the magnetron making it impossible for the high voltage section to trip the RCD without the transformer being duff (or some form of short between low and high voltage sides).

If it is tripping an MCB then I would be checking if the the 3 large black components have gone short circuit in which case I would guess that at least some of the magneton’s vacuum has gone allowing it to arc killing the inverter in which case you need to replace both.

The fact that the fuse has blown suggests to me that the inverter has got shorted components on the heat sink and that the magnetron is drawing to much current so I would change both.

the only black component on the invertor you can check successfully is thr rectifier. The other 2 components are power mosfets that cant be checked in circuit and can be damaged by static

just change the invertor and mag

Is the inverter available separately do you think i am quoted 175 for the mag and 198 for the inverter board all plus vat that’s close to a new microwave
