Gas hob has started sparking occasionally on the front left ring.

Its the same as when you turn the knob to ignite.

Is this a common problem? Is it easy to fix?

    Thanks in advance

Your oven and hob are 2 seperate entities . That is the oven model number . You will need the hob number which is normally stuck on the underneath of the unit .

Ok, I see. Is it easy to life the hob to see model number etc?

I have given the hob a good clean where it sparks and it seems to have reduced the frequency of the sparking but it has not been eliminated.

Would replacing the ignition transformer be the right thing to do here?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Can anyone advise the next step apart from repairman or replacement?

    Thanks

    Hi

Sadly we cannot advise on DIY gas repairs forum rules apply.

I would say it’s time for a Gas safe registered engineer to effect a repair. You could try our find an engineer function.
