    Hi

We changed our kitchen door handles recently and have done something to our dishwasher in the process.

In order to change the handle we had to disconnect some wires in the door. When we switched the electric back on we blew the plug fuse in the dishwasher it seems this was because we had accidentally not clipped one of the wires in properly. Once the plug fuse had been changed and the wire clipped back in the dishwasher sounds to start up as soon as its switched on without being able to set the program etc…

Any ideas how to solve this problem and what parts we need very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

You wouldn’t need to mess with the wires in order to change the door handle. That aside it very much sounds like you may have blown the control unit (aka PCB)?

These wires you refer to, were they going to the door microswitch from the on/off switch? And did one short to earth against the metal door?

I’m not sure to be honest it was I think a red wire?

We were thinking along same lines as you with it being the control unit. Just wondering if there is an internal fuse that can be changed to rectify this or if its a case of getting a replacement control unit. In which case is this simple enough fix or would I need a neff engineer?

    Many thanks

There no internal fuse for starters. The only certain way to be sure the PCB is cooked is to take it out and inspect it. 🙁
