Neff k8524x8gb/01 freezer compartment temperature setting.

Hi,
We have had this integrated fridge freezer since 2008. It seems to be running the compressor for an hour and 15 minutes and off time of approximately 45 minutes. I decided to monitor the energy use and it’s currently using a little over 1 kWh a day which I think is over what it should be.
The fridge freezer only has one rotary thermostat controller in the fridge section but may I ask if the freezer temperature is regulated by the on/off cycling due to the fridge setting or will it run independently to attain – 18°C in the freezer?
The fridge back is auto defrost but the freezer needs a manual defrost which I have just done this morning.
