Need some help please. The oven is tripping the rcd when not powered on. When cooker is switched on from the mains isolation switch the timer comes on and displays for about 15-20 secs before tripping the rcd. Could this be a problem caused by a faulty clock unit? Any help appreciated , thankyou.

Very unlikely to be the clock and more likely a duff element.

It trips the rcd when no function is selection, therefore no heater circuit is energised. Any other ideas what the fault could be?

The elements are not fully isolated though.

I’ll stick with a faulty element, but the mains terminal block, the oven lamp, cooling fan, thermostat and selector switch can all be suspect.

The oven switch may be faulty but it is hard to tell without testing.
