ParticipantCustomer has erratic temp display, tried new probe ( which customer had purchased ) but still faulty. Ordered display module which came with a note saying to set variant code/ touch calibration but no instructions on how ???

ParticipantDoes the temperature still work correctly when set although being erratic does it over heat? Before fitting display, I take it elements checked for low insulation especially the base one can cause weird faults on the electronic stuff. Could be ribbon connections from main board?
Neff wont supply any tech!

ParticipantDoesnt overheat. After a couple of minutes temp. will alter itself, normally down.
Pretty sure i would of checked elements but can’t actually remember. I may go back and check again when hot !!November 14, 2025 at 6:29 pm #494117Hollytree_Technical
ParticipantDoes the temperature revert back to the default start temperature for the cooking mode? If so then I would suspect that it is the program selection switch is very slightly grotty causing it to think that you changed the mode and then put it back again before the display catches up.

ModeratorJem is spot on it the selector switch done loads of them variant coding is easy on the date plate on the back it has v.c what ever number that is you scroll to it and switch the oven off at the on /off switch on the switch on the panel for touch calibration you need the test programme and a test finger

ParticipantYes, thats exactly it. Reverts to default. I will try a new selector switch.
How do you access the test programme, does it come up after switching off then on ?? and whats a test finger ??November 15, 2025 at 10:03 pm #494120Hollytree_Technical
ParticipantI don’t know the procedure as I have never done one but I think that 15000283 is the test finger.

ModeratorIf you change the selector switch you won’t need to calibrate the touch controls, the test programme is only for bosch engineers and you use the finger to calibrate the touch controls
