Neff oven U1661N0GB/02 suffered blown bulb in main fan oven. After restoring mains RCD circuit breaker only top (non-fan) oven/grill now working, including display. Clock display and main fan oven electronics & display appear to have failed too. Does this require replacement of main oven control unit (£150 spare part on Neff website !!!) or is there another way to fix?

Sounds like a clock or module fault I’m afraid. 😥 What’s the FD number(after ENR number on the I.D. lable) and age of the oven?

Have you actually reset the time on the clock?

If not main oven will not work.

Response to BH MAN: – I fear you’re right that it may well be a module fault. FD number is 8109 and the oven was bought new around Dec 2001.

Response to boro: – Unfortunately I cannot reset the clock because it is dead! (i.e. no clock display at all). I’ve made a visual check of the main oven control module – no obvious signs of damage. The clock is powered directly from main oven module – maybe the mains transformer or a power supply component in the main oven module may have blown when the bulb went?

From what you say, it sounds more likley to be the clock.

Re: Neff oven failed after blown bulb

The fault was in the control unit – caused by a surge of current when the bulb blew. Clock unit came back to life when the control unit was fixed. Oven working again now after paying for an expensive spare part. Thanks for the advice. 😀
