    Hi There

First post so please be gentle, i have a Neff U1863N2GB/01 FD8305 double oven about 5 years old.

I noticed that one of the bulbs in the main oven was blown, so i ordered a generic replacement bulb. Fitted bulb worked ok on first cooking session. I then noticed that the fan in the main oven was not coming on and also both bulbs on the main oven had gone out.

I looked at the bulb i had recently changed and after removing the glass cover found that it had exploded. removed the bulb reset at mains- set the clock but still the fan and bulbs do not come on. the top oven works fine and the bottom oven seems to heat up and the control succsefully changes the heating elements depending on the mode.

What is the connection between the bulb circuits and the fan? please any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    DT

The lamp, fan and element are controlled by the same selector switch which is built in to the main control unit i’m afraid 😕 When a lamp blows it’s filament can collapse and create a momentary short circuit which can pull a huge amount of power for a couple of thousandths of a sec (after which the trip will cut the power). This can seriously damage other components in the same circuit.

I would certainly say it’s not a DIY repair, i managed just a couple of weeks ago to successfully repair the control unit on a similar model but it was touch and go.

I would recommend getting an engineer in to have a go for you…if it can’t be repaired then a new control unit will set you back the thick end of £150 unfortunately 😕

    HI Clive

Thanks for the info, i managed to get a circuit diagram and traced the fault to a relay K2 on the main controller (i am a electrical engineer but not in the trade), after diagnosing the fault i was just about to order the part and i though i would see if i could get the relay only so i took the board out to get the details off the relay. When i did this i noticed the track on the underside of the relay had burnt out, i replaced the track and reassembled tested and everythingis fine.

    🙂

Re: Neff oven fan not working after bulb blew

My bulb blew but is now working. I turned the power off at the mains and replaced the bulb. When I turned the power back on, the light did not work.
I left the oven during the day and when I turned it on in the evening the light worked.
The oven must have a diagnosis program that take time to check the circuit.
    Hope this helps.

Re: Neff oven fan not working after bulb blew

    Same problem here:

    – Bulb blew (spectacularly, more like exploded…), tripped fuse
    – Clock board always working, no error message
    – Changed bulb. No light. Changed for a 3rd bulb, no light
    – Managed to operate the oven and then do a pyrolytic cleaning
    – Still no light

How do I expose the control panel to check fuses?

    Thanks

PS: Model is single fan Neff oven B15P42.0 GB

there are no fuses. if it does not work you will have blown a switch or a control pcb

to get at the control panel the oven will have to be removed from the unit and the top taken off after turning off the power
