ParticipantMorning,
Bit of a strange one. Top electric oven kept tripping the fuse, so 1st port of call was to replace the element.
So I decided to check it if was the top or bottom, first by selecting both elements on, then top grill only. Results were both tripped fuse, top only was ok. So went to double check, and neither of them tripped…
So next morning i let it cool down to see if it was the mini fan that was causing issues. All fine.
UNTIL – i slammed the door. Then it tripped again. Did this a couple times, and same result every time. Gently closing was fine, but letting it flip shut on the hinges caused it trip.
I’m goingt o take it out this afternoon and have a look, but is there any hypothesis on what it could be?
TIA

ParticipantIt’s a U17M24.0GB
Just to add, I replaced the bottom oven thermostat just before Xmas, so I have had it out and the back off before, wondering if it’s something in doing that? Was fine up until about 3-4 weeks ago.

ParticipantSolved!
Tested and it started tripping on the top+bottom only.
After a bit of poking i noticed the replaced thermostat wire (which is about 5x longer than needed) had started to unwind. Bingo – it had been in and around the spade connector to the bottom element and was touching it. Quick cable tie and testing later, problem sorted 🙂
